Mission
The MMD2 Foundation honors the legacy of Dr. Mercy Mascreen Davidson — a trailblazing neuroscientist, educator, and advocate — by empowering women in STEM, medicine, and healthcare.
Dr. Davidson’s pioneering research in mitochondrial genetics and her lifelong mentorship of women scientists inspire everything we do. Through scholarships, research grants, mentorship, and public advocacy, we aim to advance scientific discovery, elevate women’s leadership, and fight for equity in healthcare access and treatment.
Rooted in her values of intellectual integrity, gender equity, and community service, we are building a world where every woman has the opportunity to thrive, lead, and heal — in the lab, in the clinic, and beyond.
